LIP TATTOOS_____________________________________________________
- RACEHORSES - Every racehorse on site has been given a six digit code that is unique to that specific horse. Each code has one letter at the beginning, followed by a five digit number. Racehorses are required to have one tattooed on their upper lip in order to race.
- BROODMARES - All broodmares who have raced on site and have been retired also have their own unique number. It is the same number that they raced under. Broodmares who have not raced on site sometimes do not have a tattoo. The few mares who are sold without a lip number are required to have a new one bought and tattooed before they're bred.
- STALLIONS - All stallions who have raced on site and have been retired to stud duty are also required to have their own lip number. There will never be a stallion on site who will be sold without one.
- FOREIGN-BRED - Let's say on the rare occasion that one of the horses that are being sold on Fast Paced has been born in another country. That horse's lip tattoo will be a six digit sequence, with an asterisk before their registration number instead of a letter like usual.
