STARTING OUT - 1.0
BARNS - 2.0
HORSES - 3.0
A horse is given a racing "type", it corresponds to the horse's height, which tells the owner what kind of distance your horse prefers. The chart below shows what type your horse can be based on his height, and which race he would prefer the most. For example, if your horse is 16.2, he will do well in either Sprinting or Mid-Distance. When you place your horse in a race that is not his/her type of distance, all stats deduct 5 points. This then requires you to re-figure the PR. This change is only temporary however; the next race for your horse will have his/her original stats.
Sprint : 16.2 - 17.0
Mid-Distance : 16.0 - 16.2
Long-Distance/Miler : 15.0 - 15.3[/blockquote]

Welcome to Fast Paced! Here you can own your own stock of awesome race horses and go for the money in multiple tracks. Along the way you can use different items you buy in Fast Paced's stores to help your horse's stats along with picking out the right combination of training, races and financial expenditure to win that first place cup. In following titled paragraph, we'll discuss the insides and outs of this game and how to be come a successful owner, trainer, breeder, or jockey. You'll also find out many rules and scoops on Fast Paced, so I'd read carefully. Also, as a side tip, every real year that goes by makes four years in our game, making every year three months long. Let's go!
BARNS - 2.0
all about barns - 2.1
So, you first need to decide on which barn you might be interested in joining. There is one staff barn that your horse may belong too; but your horse will gain better stats if you open your own barn or join another barn that is player (not staff) owned. Barns will be where your horse(s) are kept, and where most of your horse's training will occur. Note that barns can have a variety of names such as, farm, stable, estate, etc. Barns however, are NOT clubs. Clubs will be discussed later. Barns also usually have multiple people that help run them, which means a large pool of jobs for you players. Barns can also be player owned, which means that a player like you owns it--it isn't run by the staff.
boarding at a barn - 2.2
Let say you've chosen your barn. First off, you would need to go to the barn's tack room and fill out a sign up sheet on boarding there. Make sure a stall is open--you won't be able to board at a barn that has no room for another horse. Every barn also has a set of requirements, and be it long or short, remember that you will need to meet requirements before attempting to join that barn. Once your sign up sheet is filled out, simply wait for a mod to accept your proposal. Once that's done, you can make a thread in your new barn. Please title it "Stall #x" and fill in the x will the corresponding stall number given by the mod.
barn jobs - 2.3
There are many different jobs available in one barn. Depending on the size and what features the barn has, you are able to have and apply for different jobs. You can apply for a job at any barn--your not restricted to the one your boarding at. All jobs will be covered in full later. All jobs are paid different things, and require different things.
HORSES - 3.0
creating a new horse - 3.1
To create your own horse you first need to click on the Creation Paddock and read the form given. If you look at the form you'll notice breed isn't on there. You can add it, but it won't matter because all horses on Fast Paced are Thoroughbreds. You'll be supplying just about everything about your horse except for your horse's stats. Stats are used in determining your horse's race and there are categories:Speed (spd)
Stamina (stm)
Power (pwr)
Response (rsp)
Staying (sty)
Break (brk)
Those are determined by using the dice button when your horse is first created in the creation paddock. Your horse's PR(performance rating) is an average of all the stats. So if your horse's stats were as follows:
Spd: 9
Stm: 6
Pwr: 5
Rsp: 7
Sty: 5
Brk: 4
Your horse's PR would be 6. Of course, it's not always that easy. Once your horse has higher stats, it might be useful to use a calculator rather than doing the math in your head.
available horse colors - 3.2
For the Thoroughbred breed only certain colors are allowed. Blacks, Browns, Bays and Chestnuts are all common and don't need a bit of luck to get them. If you want a grey(both dappled and speckled are allowed), white, or a roan colored horse you'll need to have a moderator roll a dice to see if you've gotten that color. 2, 3, 4, and 5 are no goes--you don't get your selected color. 1 & 6 allow you that color. If you aren't rolled that color you'll simply need to have your form fixed with a different color and let a mod approve it. Yet that only covers solid colors. For facial markings, you may have any of the following: Star, Stripe, Blaze, Snip, and Bald. These may only be white. No black, brown, or any other colored markings. For leg markings you can have any of the following: Coronet, Half-Pastern, Sock, Stocking, and Half-Cannon. These too may only be found in white. Bay horses are allowed to have black legs, muzzle, mane, and tail. Mane colors may not be lighter for darker horses and may not be partial colored. Eye colors can come in black and dark brown. Below is a site that has diagrams of the different facial and leg markings.

horse names - 3.3
Horse names. One of the mos fun things about the racing business is naming that new foal your mare had. Or just about any horse you come to acquire. A horse's name is usually significant and part of it is passed through the generations to make blood lines. So think carefully when naming your horse--you can not change the name once it's been placed. The horses here on Fast Paced can only have 18 characters in their names, including spaces. Any main characters can work though, go ahead and send a Mod a PM if you are wondering about a certain special character.
horse racing types - 3.4
A horse is given a racing "type", it corresponds to the horse's height, which tells the owner what kind of distance your horse prefers. The chart below shows what type your horse can be based on his height, and which race he would prefer the most. This then requires you to re-figure the PR. This change is only temporary however; the next race for your horse will have his/her original stats.

Long-Distance/Miler : 15.0 - 15.3[/blockquote]
JOBS - 4.0
barn manager - 4.1
As a Barn Manager you'll be able to own your own barn of trained runnin' machines. First please apply in the Mod Box and be sure to add in extra expenditures if you want those. Stalls cost 200 dollars, so be careful when buying large items for your barn. You can however, allow boarding and set prices at whatever you please. Extend your own barn however you wish. If you desire to have a main training course, you can buy those those things for a price. Barns can also host races, in which case they'll need funds to pay for the loaned track. Your barn will collect funds from the entrance fees, so make sure they are affordable. Place a purse and let um' race! As time and money consuming as this job is, it is highly rewarding in the fun you'll have should you turn out a success.
other jobs - 4.2
Other jobs are covered in the Job Academy section. You can read up on jobs there, and apply for a license.
SHOPS/SERVICES - 5.0
ITEMS - 6.0
stat boosters - 5.1
Stat Boosters are a nifty thing you can buy at our shop, but watch how you use them; they can only be used once a month.
RACES - 7.0
finding a race - 7.1[/blockquote]
So now that you've got a horse and a job and shopped for all those pretty items you think you need to race now? Ok, ok. First you need to find a/some race(s). Simply go up to the top of the page and click the "calender" button. You'll be taken to a page of that month, containing all the racing dates and other fancy events. Now, click on a race that interests you and you'll be taken to that race's details page. Here you can read up on what your horse needs to qualify(such as age, stats and fees), where it will be hosted, and how many horses are already entered.
determining a horse's entry - 7.2
Every horse can only enter certain races. A 2 year old can't enter stakes races, just as a champion Hall-of-Famer can't enter maiden classes. There are a few main groups of races:
Open - Free spots to the first ten entrants, no matter age/gender.
Maiden - Usually a horse's debut race; horses that have never won can race in these.
Allowance/Class - A small race, usually for horses that just started racing and need to qualify for Stakes races.
Claiming - All horses entered in a claiming race can be claimed by an outside player. When horses are "claimed" it works like such; if the horse has a claim placed before the race is run, the horse has a chance at changing ownership. The person trying to claim the horse pays a fee; if the horse comes in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd the claim is successful and the person is given the horse. If not, then the person receives nothing in return.
Stakes - Stakes races usually have high fees and a huge purse. These attract a lot of horses and the horses usually must qualify to race.
Cup - These races, just like stakes races, have high entrance fees and a huge purse; the difference is that Cup races are totaled on your barn's board that everyone can see. It gives prestige to your barn if you win multiple cups. Later in our game we might hand out extra prizes for winning certain cups.
GI - Only horses with a PR over 100 may race in GI races.
GII - Only horses with a PR over 75 may race in GII races.
GIII - Only horses with a PR over 50 may race in GIII races.
So if you have a brand new two year old, you'd probably consider an Allowance race or a Maiden race. For a lazy racer you want to get rid of, possibly a Claiming race. For a high graded horse, that famous stakes. All of the above? An open class.
entering a horse - 7.3
When entering a horse into a race you will need to fill out the racing form, making sure to post in correctly. Entries must be filled out and posted by the due date, no later than 12:00 PM Eastern Time Zone. Races are run the next day and calculated whenever the staff get on. All wins will be posted and up-dated on the side boards, but the main rank page will be posted in the race thread. Standings will be placed on that Track's Board and the stat boosts and winnings will be accounted for too. All competing horses in a race get +1 to all of their stats, regardless of place, unless they have ranked in the top three to receive a better prize. Here are the following stat boosts for placing in the top three:
1st: +3 in all stats
2nd: +2 in all stats
3rd: +1 in all stats
finding the perfect distance - 7.4
So you've found a few good races you want to enter, right? Next we need to make sure that race is good for your horse's preferred distance. Just follow the chart below, which tell you how long a sprint/mid-distance/long-distance is considered here on FP. Then simply apply that knowledge to what race your horse will enter. If you don't race in the right distance, all stats deduct 5 points. This then requires you to re-figure the PR. This change is only temporary however; the next race for your horse will have his/her original stats. You can train and race your horse up to three times a week.
Sprint : 5-7 Furlongs
Mid-Distance : 8-10 Furlongs
Long-Distance : 11-13 Furlongs
